Theoretical recipe for when I paint Order of the Bloody Rose:
– Prime black.
– All over Incubi Darkness – Initial zenithal of a mid-bone – Airbrush highlight with off-white – Reinforce edges with white – Airbrush several layers of scarlet ink
That’s it done – the “delete my account” process has been completed on all my Facebook-owned accounts. The FB account deletion won’t actually kick in for another 30 days or so, but Instagram should be gone already.
I’ve been pacing myself through The Witcher – 1-2 episodes a day – and it’s definitely felt a better experience than having a binge session. I suspect, if I wasn’t on holiday I’d be making time to watch it once a week, like "traditional" TV, as that’s all I’d fit in. Like The Verge, I think a release schedule like that would have worked very well for the show. It feels like The Witcher was made for it.
The way Netflix designs certain (most?) shows around the "dump it all at once for binge-watching" paradigm usually means I end up *not* watching those shows. They’re less enjoyable when stretched out to weekly-if-you’re-lucky viewing, when others have long since moved onto the next thing. There’s a pressure to watch it all *now* and I reflexively don’t use my leisure time for things that make me feel pressured.
1. Paint more miniatures than I buy.
2. Beat my #PaintHammer2019 tally. (100) 3. Enter Armies on Parade with a full-sized 2×2 board.
Tomorrow I’m deleting my Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger accounts. Not going to lie, the FOMO is kicking in, but I’ve wanted to do this for years now, and I committed to doing so a month ago, so it’s time to go.
I’m about two-thirds of the way through The Witcher, and while I wouldn’t say I’m blown away by it, I have found it unexpectedly _interesting_ in a way I can’t put my finger on.
I finally fixed a few niggling issues with the "night mode" and mobile display of my website this evening. I had a few customisations in my child theme which didn’t play nice with the latest updates to Autonomie.
I say ‘needs to "count as" any Order’, but at the moment – even though my head says Valorous Heart or Argent Shroud are the ‘sensible’ choice – I’m eyeing up a Celestine + Bloody Rose Seraphim and Zephyrim bomb…
The reason it’s being difficult is: 1) I want it visually distinct from my "retro" collection, 2) it needs to "count as" any Order, 3) I’d like it to be quick to paint to a decent standard, although 4) I keep flirting with the idea of going "Blanchitsu"…
Landing on a colour scheme for my 2020 Sororitas army is proving to be quite the challenge…
Hopefully I can get some time later to make a start on building this. I need 750 points worth painted by the end of January.
These will either be the most amazing thing, or the most foul. There will be no middle ground.
