💖 Liked: Adding Webmentions to my personal site

“I think Webmentions are cool because they are a proper web standard, so I’ve been keen to get them going on my site—especially after I burned it to the ground and replaced it with an instance of Hylia.
I’ve had Max’s tutorial bookmarked for ages and it is a fantastic resource. I basically fo…”

“Changed a lot. Going to have to add dark and light modes because some work better in some environments. Biggest note is showing post context in-line. I might punt on it and make it something that can be expanded but I want to reduce the need to leave the app to get information.”

💖 Liked: Keeping it simple with image alt text for accessibility

“We’ve watched a mass outage of media on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp unfold over the last 24 hours and something it exposed is Facebook’s use of AI for image alt text. The alt text is often completely inaccurate and really unhelpful for users who need it the most, which to me, feels like a v…”

💖 Liked: IndieWeb Summit day 2: Authl finally gets some love by an author

“One of the biggest bits of functionality I want to get in the next milestone for Publ is private posts. Doing private posts requires some way of determining the identity of the person who is reading the site. There are a lot of mechanisms to choose from. Most of them are largely incompatible with one another, and there isn’t any single mechanism that checks all my boxes. And of course the standards keep on shifting, and keep on getting a new unifying standard that will fix everything.”
