πŸ”– Bookmarked: Britain’s brilliant method of picking Supreme Court justices, explained by Ian Millhiser

β€œThe Supreme Court of the United Kingdom’s unanimous smackdown of Prime Minister Boris Johnson was brought to you by their superior method of picking justices.”

Ian Millhiser (Vox)

I knew some of this already, as I can still remember when the UK Supreme Court in its current incarnation came about, but it was good to have a reminder of the finer points. Comparisons to the US system are interesting, although from afar it has always looked to me like the US way of choosing is, well, broken and wide open for abuse.
